Miranda Kerr for Red Magazine

As spring is approaching, there are plenty of reasons to update your look. The shift in seasons pretty much always brings with it a new hair color trend and as one of the best hair salons in New York City, staying up to date with the latest trends, techniques and color is our top priority. So we decided to ask our colorists Giulia Farella and Patrick Prinzo the question we all want the answer to: Which is the best hair color for a trendy spring look?
“Spring is all about embracing the natural look and it should for sure be one that is easy to maintain. Therefore, face-framing highlights are a great option. They’re quick, they refresh the color and give it new life all in one session. Generally speaking, at springtime blondes wants to go blonder, while brunettes and redheads tend to stay the same as the sun will lighten up the strands anyways. I always recommend my clients to invest in a good hair treatment to keep the hair healthy and shiny through warmer seasons.”

“After a long winter, clients tend to go brighter and funkier with their hair color. In other words, people want a fresh and new look. If my client isn’t quite ready to part with his or her winter hues, I would suggest adding a few highlights to slightly brighten up the look and create more dimension. As a colorist, I always have the final result in mind and a color that may look great on one client, might not fit another one. Trends come and go, but a great style could last forever. My advice would be to consult with your colorist to find a color that fits your skin tone, haircut and style in general.”
