As one of the best hair salons in New York City, recreating celebrity looks is a part of our everyday life. Trending right now is Margot Robbie’s effortless chic waves seen on the cover of the latest issue of W magazine. The look feels just right in time and the style has been seen on other celebrities such as Kim K and Selena Gomez. Want waves like Margot Robbie? We’ve got you covered!
The COLOR:
“I absolutely love this color on Margot Robbie since it’s beachy and chic all in one, yet a look needing low maintenance to upkeep”, says our colorist in Soho, Claudia Decicco. There are a lot of different factors to consider when deciding upon a new hair color. The integrity of your hair is our top priority and we value its condition, not just the appearance. Therefore, we always recommend you schedule a consultation with us before you begin your makeover. This look, in particular, is great for someone who has a darker root but wants to be blonde, since it’s a mix of the two techniques balayage and ombré. What makes this hair color great is that you can achieve the lighter tones at the ends and around the face, while your roots would still have dimension. Meaning the style doesn’t require touch up that often and would still look great the weeks in between visits to the salon. A light face framing would essentially contour & highlight the facial features such as eyes and cheekbones and the look is ideal for clients with medium to fine hair.
Creating the STYLE:
Depending on the condition of your hair, you’ll get this look by cutting your hair in a style with minimal to no layering at all. However, the length, depending on your features, has to be just right for this particular look. It can’t be too long and it can’t be too short – it has to be just right. To achieve the effortless, yet textured finish, you would start by prepping your wet strands with a simple Sea-Salt Spray. “The condition of your hair is, and will always be our top priority, so don’t forget the heat protectant spray before using hot tools,” says our celebrity stylist Luis Miller. When your hair is 100% dry, go over it with a 1-1&3/4” curling iron. Wrap random smaller sections of hair around to create a slight wave in your hair, leaving the ends more on the straight side. Finish the look by applying a Dry Texture Spray for hold, volume, and, of course, texture.
The UPKEEP:
As a luxury salon in New York, we’re all about long-term results. We want to educate you to make sure that you know how to take care of your hair and scalp in between visits. We have previously talked about how using the right products for your hair and taking care of your strands in between visits is crucial for its health. Did you know that using drugstore shampoo that can strip the color out very quickly? We definitely wouldn’t want that to happen!
