What hair stylists recommend
Rene shares, “round hair brushes help to tame frizz and deliver bounce and shine to your hair. I always recommend using natural boar bristle for the optimal blow dry results!”
How about for fine hair?
Brooklyn Heights hair stylist Antonio Juarez agrees, “natural boar bristle brush is a great option for all hair types.” “For fine hair, I would stick with boar bristle as well, my only recommendation is to make sure that the bristle patterns are not too aligned and compacted too close to each other, a more scattered bristle is best for fine hair because it doesn’t create too much tension or pull on the hair.”
Also, when choosing the right brush remember that a wooden brush is always preferred not only is the quality of the brush better, but metal-based brushes can easily cause heat damage to already weaken hair. Nobody wants more breakage!
One last tip
Brooklyn Heights, lead stylist assistant Irina Barskaya shares an important tip when blow drying hair. “Work on your grip! A good blow dry starts with a good strong grip on the brush. Make sure you start close the root, and always work on your technique, make sure that the hair rolls into the brush as oppose to just pulling the hair down with the brush. It can be difficult to master at first but keep working on it and you’ll get that hang of it.”
