bangs styling

BANGS, BANGS, BANGS!

Bangs are back and more versatile than ever! There are many different types of bang hairstyles and that means there is a style that suits everyone, no matter your hair’s length or texture. But, we know it can get confusing quickly when looking at all the different styles to choose from. We’re here to make it easier – simply check out these inspiration photos of 6 styles of bangs to show to your stylist at your next haircut appointment.

Blunt

This is the traditional and classic hairstyle that birthed the bang trend! Blunt bangs are an exciting way to spruce up a classic hairstyle, such as a short bob. You can even cut these bangs with some face framing layers if you have longer hair to give a doll appearance.

Wispy

Wispy bangs are pretty much the straight-up opposite of traditional blunt bangs – and because they are less of an in-your-face statement, they are a great option if you’ve never had bangs before and are just looking to try them out. They’re on the longer and thinner side, so if you decide you don’t want to style the bangs one day, you can push them to the side and they will blend effortlessly with the rest of your hair because not as much of your hair is cut to form the bangs.

Curtain

The show must go on, and the Curtain Bangs hairstyle, which made its debut in late 2021 is far from being washed up! This relaxed hairstyle is parted in the middle and then drapes your face as a way to naturally compliment it. The hair is shortest on the inner part towards your forehead, and waterfalls longer to blend into your natural hair length.

Baby

Baby bangs originated in the alternative scene, but have made their way into mainstream culture because they are  flattering and easy to style. Not to mention, baby bangs are practical, because, hence the name, their short length prevents any blocking of  your eyesight like longer bangs may do. If you like edgier hairstyles and want to accentuate your eyes, baby bangs should definitely be on your agenda!

Side

Another classic bang style, that has been around for ages, is a side-swept bang. These bangs are longer pieces–created where you part your hair deep on the side that areparted to go across your forehead to the other side. The good news is that this haircut suits almost all hair lengths and textures, so you don’t have to worry about the logistics of it all (leave that to your hairstylist!).

Curly

Curly hair is beautiful; why not accentuate it with having some curls in the front to frame your face? Chopping some wavy or curly bangs can often give the appearance of a shag, which is perfect because that ’80s laid-back look is all the rage!
