5 Bad Habits That Are Making Your Hair Greasy

You wash your hair too often

The natural oils from your scalp nourish your hair and keep it hydrated and protected. If you wash your hair too often, it can strip your scalp of its natural oils – so your scalp ends up producing more in a bid to replace them. Aim to wash your hair 2-3 times a week and not more. If your hair gets oily fast try adding a dry shampoo to your styling routine.

You wash your hair in the wrong way

In previous blog posts, we’ve talked about the hair washing mistakes you might be guilty of. Remember that hair tends to be dirtiest at the roots and drier towards the ends, so apply shampoo to the scalp and work your way down. And do not forget to be generous with the massage!

You massage your scalp too aggressively

Be gentle while massaging! Too much or too aggressive a scalp massage stimulates the sebaceous glands and as a result, more sebum is produced. Instead, aim for gentle movements clockwise and counterclockwise – and no nails!

Your diet needs a change

The remedy for greasy hair usually begins with changing the habits mentioned above. However, there may be something else you can do to stop your oily locks dilemma, and that is changing your diet. Avoid fatty foods and be sure to eat these 10 nutrients that are said to improve the condition of your hair.

You use the wrong products

The wrong products can leave your hair feeling dry, weighed down, and lifeless. Investing in a good shampoo is key for a healthy mane. Great options would be to use Gentle Cleanser from Label.m, Ultra Gentle from Oribe, or to do the Milbon Scalp Treatment every two months. Not sure what product that fits your hair? Ask your hairstylist the next time you visit the salon.
