We are excited to announce our very own Fabio Scalia Styling Suite! Last week we launched our latest project, Fabio Scalia Styling Suite. The pop-up was designed for press to come in and get some quick styling before heading out for NYFW shows and events. Our guests were treated to not only expert styling by our hair professionals but they also received popular in-salon treatments featured in our blog such as the K Water and Fusio-Dose by Kerastase. Our team had a blast interacting with all of our guests and our team created a fantastic laid back and serene atmosphere. Fabio Scalia Styling Suite will be doing monthly POP-UPS all over the city this spring. The idea behind it is to provide ease and convenience to clients to have flawless hair wherever they go. Stay tuned on our social channels for place and time! Press play to see glimpse from the event, and as always drop a comment below if you have any questions. Fabio Scalia is an upscale hair salon in SoHo and Brooklyn Heights, New York. We offer services such as haircuts, styling, balayage, coloring and extensions.
Here at Fabio Scalia Salon we are committed to our partnership with local artists. We love having the opportunity to connect artists with members of the community and we are privileged to have a revolving display of amazing art adorning our walls. Recently, and just in time for Valentine's Day, we have re-partnered with Michael Mut- local artist and founder of the Love Yourself Project. The Love Yourself Project is presenting a collection of origami hearts from their core public program, 10,000 Hearts Campaign, that began in 2010. Each mixed media hand made heart contains a personal inscription of self-love, from New Yorkers who were asked “What do you love about yourself?” In this collection at Fabio Scalia Salon, Mut donated several of his own personal origami hearts to be for sale to help support the project. In the back part of the salon are hand painted Hearts also by Michael Mut and local artist Shelley Flanders. All Hearts are for sale and 100% of the profit will go to the Love Yourself Project to support their programs. We are very inspired by the message of self-love, and we think all of you will appreciate this lovely exhibit. Stay tuned to learn the date of an upcoming workshop where you can learn to make your own origami heart with a message that is personal to you. Also check out the Love Yourself Project's exhibit of 5,000 hearts, honoring the program's 5th anniversary, on display at BAM Fisher (321 Ashland Place, Brooklyn, NY). The exhibit is taking place between February 24th - March 8th. For more information visit: loveyourselfproject.org.
Suran Song - Sidewalk Video Mandalastransmit Saturday, December 13th, 5:30-8:30 p.m Location: In front of the salon at 155 Montague Street, Brooklyn, NY. Suran Song is a local artist whose work has been adorning our walls for the past month. (For those of you who do not know, we use our salon as an art space with rotating exhibitions to showcase the work of local NYC artists). Suran’s current show is called “Flower Shower” and her work is heavily influenced by her passion for yoga and her study of Sanskrit. She chooses colors that are often used in yogic therapy and are believed to promote healing and soothing vibrations. Our clients have had an overwhelmingly positive response to her work and we love being surrounded by the positive vibes all day long. On December 6th, in front of the salon, Suran will showcase the portable sidewalk video projection that accompanies her Flower Shower exhibit. It is a projection of her beautiful pieces onto the sidewalk. So, stop by to see, or become part of, Suran’s unique style of art. Check out this Youtube video to get an idea of what you will be seeing next month at this event on Montague Street!
